I grew up white trash. It is what it is. That belly button changed me. Just…there for all to see!? And she was moving, unlike the Sears catalogs. Crazy.

Not a kink in any way, but my fascination in age regression stories certainly came from the cartoons I watched, new and old at the time. Whether a plot point of the episode or just a gag.

    JLU? Kids stuff

KND? Operations Fountain, Cable TV, amd Grow Up

    Tiny Toons? School dance episode

BTBB? The Shazam family & Dr. Sivana episode

    MlaaTR? Good Old Sheldon

I could go on, but I think that’s enough.

Could also be that those kinks already exists in our minds undiscovered and is what creates the draw toward these particular shows in the first place.

Though, most people here are talking about crushes which is a different thing. Personally I really stuggle to draw a line from a kink I have to a show I watched in childhood.

oral sex was once a kink.

Kink is more about what is considered non-normative than anything. Half of what makes a kink kinky is that it’s not something other people normally do. Nobody thinks oral sex is kinky anymore, and increasingly, bdsm and anal are being normalized to the point they are no longer kinks, whereas 30 years ago they would be considered deviant sexual behavior.

Apparently, “kink”, “fetish”, and “things I like in a slightly sexual way, or even just obsess over” all mean the same thing now. Oh, and “obsess” is another such word.

This is one reason it’s so hard to communicate clearly.

people have different definitions for all of this. One person’s extreme kink is another’s boring mundane sex act.

And people will argue with you about it, because they basically think the world revolves around their own perceptions of what is sexually deviant. I have met people who think I’m a sex-addct because I have had sex with more than a dozen people.

        Man, communication is hard.

You can say something and someone else interprets it, and they make all the noises to suggest that they understand what you said, but it’s very difficult to be certain that you’re both thinking the same thing. All too often the same words mean something very different to people.

People also use words more loosely in some contexts and more strictly in others. Like the expressions you mentioned could all basically be synonyms in most contexts, but if you were talking to a sexual partner or a sex therapist, you’d probably want to be more exact with the words you use.

But here’s the issue, how do you know how exact someone is being when they’re talking to you? If you’re guessing at their level of precision, then you’re only guessing at their actual meaning. Problematic.

a lot of people also just like being upset and deliberately misinterpreting you for the dramatic high it gives them. especially about something as emotionally charged as sex.

just look at ‘body count’ and how people react to that. my body count makes me a total prude to some people, and a sex-addicted freak to others. and often people weaponize these things to shame and control others and are themselves often massive hyprocites about their own and other people’s sexual behavior.

To me the irony is always the people who bang 100s of people claiming they can’t be judged negatively for that, any anyone who does is a loser virgin incel… because apparently it’s cool to shame people who don’t have as much sex as they do. same with ‘kink shaming’ nobody kink shames more than the people who go around claiming you shouldn’t kink shame anyone.

I listened to a thing from a sex psychologist ages ago who talked about this. She said there was a connection between the developing arousal (sexual) and arousal (general emotional) that forms during the transition from childhood to adolescence, so there is commonly a connection formed between something the then-child has strong emotions toward, positive or negative, so a person can develop a sexual fixation on something beloved (mommy/daddy is perfect love personified. Dinosaurs are so frigging cool. etc.) or terrifying. (Mommy/daddy is mad. The monster is going to eat me all up. etc.)

that’s a bunch of Freudian bullshit. Freud’s theories are only popular because they make for stupid dramatic nonsense beliefs like this that sound so clear and obvious to the layperson.

I loved Transformers as a kid, doesn’t mean I want to fuck robots or cars. Maybe for someone it does, but none of this is universal or even reliably generalizable.

Almost nothing is universalizable or generalizable. Theories are maps. Assuming the map describes all territories is an individual error.

Nothing you said here makes any sense, but I suppose it sounds very ‘deep’ to you or something?

Theories are not maps, wtf are you smoking over there?

If you really want some hardcore weird shit, looking Jung. Nobody touches his shit anymore because it was even more whack than Freud. But his work does make for an excellent story telling model for fiction. It has jack shit to do with real psychology though.

Theories can be viewed metaphorically as maps. If I define ground with hocus pocus nonsensensical alchemy I can lay the foundations for modern chemistry, same can be said for medicine. I could argue that Plato created Christianity monotheistic god on ‘The Republic’.

Your critic of Freud is valid but that doesn’t mean he didn’t lay a fundamental metaphorical map

I didn’t even notice that she had a wardrobe malfunction back when I saw the movie as a kid - I only learned that bit of Star Wars trivia a few years later when I got internet access. I think they left it in, but I also figure that Femi Taylor probably had pasties on under that costume anyway.
