Welcome to Mop Lemmy, the premier fediverse space dedicated to the art, science, and history of mops. From a stick with animal hair tied to it to modern mechanical wringers with microfiber cloth: this is the place.

Instance Rules:

Despite the name non-mop related conversation is allowed, but discouraged.
Keep it clean: No hate speech or harassment. While this is not a clean language only instance please use common sense. Try to keep your floors and your conversations spotless.
No spam or self-promo: Affiliate links for cleaning products or unauthorized advertisements will be removed instantly.
Respect the gear: Avoid aggressive flame wars over mop types (e.g., spin mops vs. flat mops). All floor-cleaning methods are valid here. Except brooms. Weak ass dirt pushers.

Content Boundaries (SFW vs. NSFW)

To maintain an organized and welcoming platform, this instance enforces a strict separation between Safe for Work (SFW) and Not Safe for Work (NSFW) communities. Users are required to treat these spaces accordingly:

SFW Spaces: Main, general-interest communities must remain completely Safe for Work. Do not post adult content, graphic imagery, or highly sensitive material in these areas. Violations will result in content removal and potential account restrictions.
NSFW Spaces: Mature, adult, or graphic discussions are strictly limited to designated NSFW-marked communities. If you create a community intended for mature topics, you must explicitly enable the NSFW toggle in the community settings.
Proper Flagging: Flagging individual posts containing adult themes, graphic content, or extreme language as NSFW is highly encouraged but not strictly required. If you choose to enter or browse a designated NSFW community, you do not get to be upset when you encounter NSFW content. Proceed at your own comfort level.
Cross-Posting Rules: Do not cross-post NSFW content into SFW communities. Users who deliberately attempt to bypass these filters to expose the main feeds to adult content will face an immediate ban.
Right to Refuse Service: I hate heavy handed mods, but at the end of the day we must do what we must to keep this instance gliding smoothly across the floors of the fediverse. We reserve the right to remove any content, mute any user, or ban any user for any period of time deemed necessary.
