I actually really like it for the very simple narrative. The natives win against the colonial slavers. Kind of sucks they needed outsiders, but still, it is the rise up and finally beat these assholes story generally only dreamt of in showers.

The Epstein Drive, from a fictional book series, The Expanse, but decently grounded in science. It resolves an important shortcoming in current propulsion, which is how to sustain acceleration for an entire voyage. With sustained acceleration, you can both make trips great distances in reasonable time and do so while maintaining normal earth gravity or slightly more to some withstandable extent.
Completely understand. No issue with people that don’t want to hug, but being against others hugging is terrible.

No. I enjoyed it immensely. That’s just how good the soundtrack is; to be even better than that.
I was much more so when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I love to be wrong. It is always an opportunity to question my biases and learn. But introspection need not always lead to change. As long as I am willing to reflect honestly, I’m happy.

Very similar. A coworker of mine in maybe 2005 or so was a huge fan. I didn’t dislike him, but I did think his music taste sucked. So I thought Coheed and Cambria sucked. Then I saw them live several years later at a festival, and was blown away. I admit I was dead wrong. Listened to every album since and they are incredible composers and performers.
Yeah, I think some is phatic and some is to subconsciously maintain rhythm to hold attention. Both of which are not only fine, but if not abused, preferred in many contexts.
