It’s advertising. Clickbait. Most people are bad at it, or just emulate other people who are also bad at it. I’ve got to imagine that full screen previews negate the need for text at all.

Awards. I know they were just a source of revenue for the corp, but they could also fund (donate to) the user’s instance receiving the award. Hell, they could also be set to donate to specific causes, selected by instance admins. The admins could give their users input on which causes to support, if the admins chose not to accept the funds themselves.
They could be optional to enable, and provide no special treatment or experience that the user would receive. They could even be not traceable per user, outside of admin consoles, which would make them useless as a way to accumulate internet points.
I’d bet there would be a good amount of folks that would take part in such an experiment. Instances cost real money to maintain, and making a sort of game of it might provide more donations than a simple “donate” button.
I’m sure there will be people who are vehemently against this idea, for privacy or who else knows reasons. There could be a way to scam money somehow, but if it was optional both as a way to give and receive by instance admins, there would be ways to kill it if necessary.
Hell yeah!
Also ~40ish, classes start next week!

We are heavily dependent on oil in the US. In most places, if you do not have a car, you are severely limited on job prospects and other necessary things to live. Nothing gets cheaper, we pay for it in one way or another. For prices to come down, it would require good faith actors, who do not have fiduciary responsibility to shareholders to maximize profit and have unlimited growth. And in this economic system, bad faith is the stock and trade. This is why you never hear of growth-flation. Prices go up, quantities and sizes go down, and if we don’t like it, we are shit out of luck.
The president doesn’t have the power to do this own their own. It would take a ton of people working towards a common goal of a better society. And for most people, if it doesn’t make them money, they don’t care to try.
Wars have been started, heads of state have been kidnapped, millions have died, just for oil. Add to that that you are also attempting to reign in the military? You would be turning off the spigot for the most depraved people in the world. They’d make an example of you, for those that would try such a thing again. They would not even cover it up.

iPhone 4S was one of my favorite phones. It was around the golden age of jailbreaking in my opinion. So much fun.
If we are going back before smartphones, then the RAZR V3i was a fun phone. SEEM editing was pretty sweet. Like, why was rhythm lights even a thing?
The Nokia 6820 will always have a special place in my heart as well. It was such a perfect little texting machine.

I would earmark that money for use for my son’s future. So, no change, just the hope that if the money did become mine, that I’d be able to pass it on to him.
Pretty standard stuff. Make the building, then stand it up. It’s how buildings are made.

Saved your comment. When I get home, I’ll check it out! Thanks ☺️
Yes, I’m a terrible person.
It’d be easier for me to just delete the post. However, there have been many thoughtful replies that would be a shame to lose. A select few have taken this as a personal attack, or somehow an ableist assault. I am sorry that they feel that way, but not sorry for asking a question of narrow-minded people.
Call me what you like. This is the internet, it doesn’t matter.

Dr. Strange is a really good one too! Drawing energy from other realms and all.

I am a lay person when it comes to comics, so feel free to tear me apart here. Could Bruce Banner potentially be all 3? His DNA was able to absorb the gamma radiation (born with it), he then had the radiation thrust upon him, and then he did whatever he did to make himself the smart hulk?
A bit of a reach, I know.
Not on it. I’m asking a question to the narrow minded individuals, not those that have allergies/sensory issues. Maybe don’t take things so serious?
Are you usually this angry? Looking for things to be upset about?
Chill, friend. No one was attacking you.
Doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult to do, and I just about guarantee that instances would receive much more in the way of donations if it were a simple click below a post or comment to do so. The whole settings and options don’t have to be a thing.
