Ok Stilgar.
I sometimes wonder if I ever drank water that has been my pee once
That depends: how many times have you been an astronaut on the ISS? (Don’t be embarrassed, it happens to the best of us.)
Yes.
Jesus’s pee? Doubtful.
Just like bussy
I call seconds! Lol
Sounds kinda sloppy
False. I have access to both oxygen and hydrogen as a welder. I have used both to make a flame that reacts both elements to CREATE water.
You’re welcome, everyone. I saved you all.
Well, I ate some food, breathed, and went to the toilet. You’re welcome.
During respiration, cells combine glucose and oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water ((C_6H{12}O_6 + 6O_2 \rightarrow 6CO_2 + 6H_2O))._
Thats dirty peepee water and doesnt count.
You can never drink the same water twice because it’s not the same water and you are not the same man.
Star wars ghost of Heraclitus nods approvingly.
I disagree. I have few canisters of water stored for emergencies in the cellar and I very much own them and if someone were to steal them I could call the police and they’d treat is as my property.
it’s still just your turn to drink that water, but your turn is very long
Water isn’t yours.
It’s Nestlé’s.
Sam Altman would like a word.
“RAM isn’t a human right.” - Sam Altman
This is true for everything. The matter in your body is not yours, for example, it’s just your turn to use all that carbon and oxygen and whatnot
That carbon and oxygen is just temporarily in that form. The fermions that comprise it will be reused to form other matter
You can pry my matter from my cold dead hands

That’s the idea.
A man’s flesh is his own; the water belongs to the tribe.
I’m hoarding quite some amount of water in my flesh.
He gives water for the dead!
The ownership of your flesh is temporary.
I want to be roasted and fed to the guests of my funeral.
“This is the best pork I’ve ever had!”
If you’ve ever had trichinosis make sure they know to cook you thoroughly.
it’s not like I’m RFK Jr or something…
Water is never really yours it’s
just your turn to drink itNestle’s.It’s also all Holy Water, since Holy Water cannot be diluted according to catholic dogma.
It cannot be diluted, but it can stop existing.
1000 ml holy water + 999 ml of tap water = 1999 ml of holy water, but
999 ml holy water + 1000 ml of tap water = 0 ml holy water.
So to make all water holy water, we first need more holy water than water, which is hard.
Is there a rate at which regular water is converted into holy water? I feel like we could just pour the 1000ml of regular water into the 999ml of holy water at whatever that rate is, and still end up with 1999ml of holy water in the end. Or is it like adding water to acid where it summons a very irate priest if you try that?
So, first of all, I’d like to point out I’ve done way too much research with this, I make my daily coffee with holy water for funsies, holy water blessed by TWO popes. I’ve looked into catholic websites, interviews, read through every relevant bible passage. Trust me when I say, I do not know for sure. Every source that even approaches this little bit of nuance seems to assume a pour is instant. In a way, that makes sense, because we cannot dilute it. So, the reality I’ve concluded is that we have to do the same. Therefore, flow rate is irrelevant, if I take a whole hour to add a liter of water to 999 ml holy, I ruin the batch.
Instead, the device I’ve imagined (but not tried to build, as of yet) to continually produce holy water would use essentially a mini 1-liter toilet tank setup with a reeeeaaaallllly slow drip emitter as an input, so that the “flow” isn’t continuous, it’s discrete droplets being added to the holy tank, and the bobber that toilets have is set to keep like 100 ml as a minimum to this tank. Then we prime it with holy water and every drip is less than the size of the tank, so holy water is constantly growing, and then whatever output I have can only get holy water and can never deplete the tank.
Also you can’t pour holy water down the drain, that’s a sin, it has to go into the ground directly. Churches have a dedicated holy water drain that isn’t connected to actual plumbing and goes straight to the ground. Following the rules for that is actually quite annoying.
Dammit, this ruins my cool Holy Water comment. Stupid bible ruins everything
I went down the rabbit hole and found out it can be diluted but only if you add more than 49% regular water at a time
This means that while the chances are that most of the water in your soda has never been in another soda, almost all of it has been drunk by at least one dinosaur.
Does Munroe just steer all his answers toward dinosaurs?
Coke is dinosaur piss?
always has been
Apparently!
Water is not eternal. It can be destroyed and created. One of the interesting ways new water happens is when you burn hydrocarbons. Some of those hydrogen atoms find and bond to the oxygen from the air and boom, that’s brand new water; clean and pure, straight from the exhaust pipe.
Yep! The idea that a water molecule has always been on Earth is a really widespread notion.
You won’t believe your eyes! WATCH as photosynthesis DESTROYS water!
6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy → C6H12O6 + 6O2
Yeah but how often is that happening to the entire volume of the ocean?
Apparently all water molecules on earth are recycled through life roughly every 2 to 5 million years.
We all drink piss and eat stuff grown in literal shit when you really break things down
If you breathe in a room you pee in, some molecules of water will recycle through you straight away
Life hack
