What about if we silently upload your files from your documents folder to OneDrive and replace them with links to the OneDrive copy, so that they stop working if you ever delete OneDrive?

Looks like a Gentoo install. Set the hard disk up ready for use, put some Gentoo files on it, switch to running from the hard disk instead of the install CD or USB stick, download more Gentoo stuff, compile and install a Linux kernel.

Assuming you’re not talking about the one with three languages and a continue button, if you don’t get that one I can’t really help you.

4k is better for web browsing and normal desktop use than gaming, IMO. 4k text is beautiful, you actually have enough pixels for fine details to not turn into a blurry mess.

Yeah, but modern AAA games are so expensive and take so many years to make that nobody can afford to have a pipeline with multiple games in development. The AAA industry is choking itself to death.

Those do actually go down. Hospitals have to be evacuated after an earthquake, airports force all aircraft to divert or the grid has the sort of outage that gets it’s own Wikipedia page and needs to be black started.

I hope I am too, but I just looked at what a CPU, motherboard and RAM upgrade would cost and it looks like this system will be old enough to start high school by the time I replace it.

And the system after that? If I buy new in 2030, when will the one after that be? 2045?

Now it’s starting to look like upgrades are just a thing of the past and this is going to be my forever machine.

I upgraded to 64GB RAM a year or so ago which I didn’t really need, but it was cheap so why not.
