I respect a DM who’s gone out to find useful references made by others.
I do not respect a DM who has asked a bot to generate some supplemental images.
I do not want to play with a DM who tasks a bot with coming up with a story or responses during play.
Simple as.
Who knows, I care little about arguing such hypotheticals.
Either way, guide books contain pictures and there are plenty of websites people post their art to. You can just use such as reference material. A handdrawn map, even if crummy, is more charming than some AI hallucination.
I interpreted “art” as the DM’s storytelling in this case. If the DM doesn’t do that much, why even bother.
I have no qualms about the use of supplemental materials such as a guidebook, reference images, or otherwise. Ones preferably obtained from real artists.
Is this claiming that you can’t be an effective DM if you don’t do your own art?
Literally yes.
It doesn’t say it has to be all you. A guide book is just fine, that’s what its there for! But if you’re just repeating what the chatbot generates, even if it’s slightly modified, I might as well talk to one myself.
You don’t have to be a great DM, if you’re trying you’re at least improving for next time. If you’re using a bot you’re not even doing that.
So an apple contains about half the sugar a can of coca cola does, and comes with various other benefits?
You’re unlikely to eat two apples in a row, let alone eight or nine on top of having all three of your usual meals. But you could fairly easily drink an entire large bottle of coke throughout the day, which is exactly the problem.
Edit to add: this is why fruit juice isn’t exactly healthy either. Sure, it’s got vitamins, but it’s basically soda.
Game development is mostly programming
Is it though? Especially when you’re making use of an existing engine.
There are more legitimate criticisms to make than this dubious-at-best “meme”.
These services generally do warn you months in advance. Though I cannot say from experience, I think it most unlikely sony sent nothing to the user.
Alternatively; sony having pretty much won the console war knows they can enshittify without losing (too) much of their audience.
I feel just like I’m back on Reddit.
Jusant was very much different from their typical narrative game.
This isn’t new? This doesn’t have the same activity nor price history SteamDB does? What are you even talking about?
+1 for urlchecker.
You can set it to open any link first (as if it were you primary browser), then have it link you through to whatever app.
ReVanced can do it, but you may need to enable the option. I forget.
That’s a conclusion the article doesn’t leap to:
What Created the Honeycomb Patterns?
Some polygonal formations previously examined by Curiosity clearly began as cracks in drying mud. However, several different processes can produce this kind of honeycomb appearance.
Repeated warming and cooling can fracture the ground into geometric shapes. Compression may also create similar patterns by forcing water out of sediment after the material becomes buried beneath the surface.
Scientists are now studying the newly discovered formations to determine which of these processes, or possibly a combination of them, shaped the landscape in Valle Grande.
It’s considered a noble metal.
