4 days agoWe’ve got a town in NZ called Rangiora, but it’s pretty ubiquitously known as “Goon” to locals.
My theory is “Rangiora” -> “Rangoon” -> “Goon”.
We also call the inner bag removed from boxed wine a “goon sack”, though that one is borrowed from the Aussies.
Mmm, Macca’s occasionally did shaker fries (bag + flavour sachet) as promotions 5-10 years ago here. I remember spicy, cheeseburger, bbq, and cheese flavours.
