I would have thought Ohio was more negative. Gen Z doesn’t remember the cuyahoga river catching fire more than a dozen times. Apparently you can even eat the fish from it now (determined between trump terms, so it might even be true)!

But milimiles would be redundant, it already gets its name from being roughly equivalent to a thousand of someone, somewhere’s (probably in Europe or the Mediterranean, but beyond that, who knows) paces.

We already have short tons, you don’t lose much precision by halving the number!

Although I do get the argument that using tons is confusing because there are metric tons as well, and with only a 10% difference, it won’t be as obvious as if you confuse pounds and kilos or feet and meters

I’m so glad I learned that I could digest rocks as an adult. I don’t think the second part of that warning would have been enough to deter me as a kid.
