I see a lot of games that should be “early access” that instead opt for a less functional “full” release.

The annual financial disclosure forms were released recently, which tells us nothing about which part of the year the gifts were given in. Certainly plausible that they could have been made at Christmas.

Another advantage is signalling (to the more gullible) that J&J has a leg to stand on. “They wouldn’t be fighting it if they did anything wrong.” Thin argument, but it doesn’t take much against unexamined opinions.
