Depraved indifference at best, and explicitly pro-murdering people. Also no sign he gave a shit about pedos.

I…fuck, I guess…Diddy, if he doesn’t have other plans. He’s the only one that hasn’t killed kids.

The nix package(?) system, sure, but the eponymous OS of course has parts under a diversity of licenses, including a GPL kernel.
What I don’t get/trust if how Omarchy just slaps an MIT label on its GitHub even when I can see software in there that I know use different licenses.

Most of the people going on about him take a lot of umbrage with his racist ideology, but all he seems to do with it is blog. If there are more material concerns (like with Proton) then I’m not seeing them be raised.

I mean, something is fishy when Michael Dell et al dump millions into a particular distro. Could be the AI-forward identity, could be the development of tools with permissive licenses, could be DHH is just rich and good at schmoozing. Hard to say.

Okay I’m seeing further chicanery. Their GitHub repo gives the license as MIT but many of the components are not Omarchy originals but derivatives of other products under different licences. Quickshell is LGPL 3, for example, and of course the Linux kernel is GPL 2.
But then there’s a guy working on the “Omarchy Kernel”, which I guess is a derivative like Ubuntu does…
Personalities aside this is still weird, and I wish people would focus on that.

I am not an Omarchy or DHH hater but…why? It’s Arch with Hyperland, why are people fawning over it? Is it just because he keeps saying “agentic”?
I’m agentic too, how about throwing me a million bucks?
Yeah, I’ve worked places where I could tell exactly how many more man hours we were short, and I knew the managers were doing it deliberately for a bonus. It’s not for the workers, it’s not for the customers, it’s for shareholders.
Deflation of a currency discourages people from spending it, because you can make more money by just holding on to it. It makes loans more expensive to provide because someone can borrow money and it will increase in value without them doing anything, so you have to have higher interest rates to counterbalance this. This harms economies. What you want is stable prices, erring on the side of inflation if you must.
I suppose for a single person deflation doesn’t feel like much, but money is collective so the party doesn’t last.
Exactly. If I give you sufficient notice, 2 weeks is probably a good minimum, and no one else is taking off at that time, that’s a you problem if you can’t cover it. If your team is not structured such that you can honor PTO with sufficient notice, you are not offering PTO. You are lying about benefits.

‘Uthmeier, himself a Catholic, wrote to the bishops in an open letter that, based on his own understanding of Catholicism, he saw “no legitimate religious reason to refuse granting religious exemptions.”’
My Brother In Christ, if you want to second guess the clergy, I think thou protest too much. And there’s already a word for that.

Next a savory tax? Or Euros taxing flavor because it frightens and confuses them.

It does appear to have confused actual “morons in a hurry”, so yeah, maybe.
But more ideological. But yeah, throw Trump or Hegseth in the mix and I’m still picking Diddy.
