US exceptionalism isn’t just a thing Americans got propogandized into. Even places that openly disdain US aesthetics seem to still want US hegemony because it feels like part of what made life normal. Sadly I don’t think even Trump is too far of a stretch to break that for people who grew up in the 20th century northern hemisphere.

Slop content definitely kills movements because people engaging with it think they’re doing a resistance and don’t do anything further. No learning, no talking, just updoot the eye-grabbing yellow text and feel like a hero.
