          What, you got a problem with a photographer who’s calling you out for adding slop to Lemmy? You’re putting words in my mouth saying I “made a distraction comment?”

      Slop content definitely kills movements because people engaging with it think they’re doing a resistance and don’t do anything further. No learning, no talking, just updoot the eye-grabbing yellow text and feel like a hero.

      Reddit is bursting to the seams with this garbage

        The backlash creates extra work for OC posters as well, though… That itself creates a chilling effect. You either have to overthink your post to avoid getting accused or you decide it’s easier to just not post at all.
