Yes, absolutely. Antisemitism is pretty much the classical case for an entire group of people getting lumped together, othered, and loaded with all sorts of negative stereotypes that are then used as justification for actions against them.
The point I wanted to contribute is that the state of Israel and its various advocacy groups have contributed significantly to this by continually arguing in bad faith that any criticism of their behavior is equivalent to antisemitism. This has established in the public conscience the incorrect notion that Israel represents all jews and that their actions reflect upon all of them.
That was bad enough when Israel was locked in a morally complex struggle with the Palestinians. Plenty of shit happened then that many jews didn’t agree with and weren’t happy to be associated with via Israel’s rhetoric. But now the conflict has escalated to a point where Israel’s behavior goes well past any notion of acceptability.
And the rhetoric that any criticism of this is antisemitic persists. Advocacy groups spend big money to convince the world that opposing the genocide in Gaza is equivalent to hating jews. Combine that with the onslaught of right-wing propaganda on social media and yeah, it’s no wonder antisemitism is on the rise.
Mind you, this has been actively promoted by Israel and several major NGOs who have been arguing (incorrectly) for decades that Israel and Judaism are essentially identical.
That doesn’t make it true but it’s still a meme (in the sociological sense) that has been well established for quite some time.
.NET turned out to be pretty good… eventually. Mind you, it still has ridiculous parts like none of the GUI toolkits it ships with being crossplatform (except WinForms, barely). But compared to other development platforms it’s not really worse than the rest.
Of course they’re also not really selling it. The related programs they do sell (like Visual Studio and Azure DevOps) absolutely suck.
I can’t even access the settings on my work laptop. Or the VM I have to connect to through AVD. I do have admin privileges on the Windows Server VM I have to connect to from AVD but I can’t exactly install an operating system over RDP.
That’s my point: The classical definition makes the assumption that written records are the only records with any kind of reliability, which doesn’t hold everywhere.

I wouldn’t say the idea of prehistory is disrupted per se. But we have to accept that it’s region-dependent. In any given region (recorded) history started when the oldest still available account was preserved.
Some regions are far better at preserving very old accounts than others.

If you want a bunch of stuff that’s not in core or extra and you don’t want to intensely babysit the AUR, you could try Chaotic-AUR. It hosts prebuilt packages for a bunch of AUR packages which are actively maintained by the Chaotic team.
I consider it to be more secure than the AUR proper since they actually care for their packages and review nontrivial changes. For instance, the recent takeover attacks didn’t hit Chaotic-AUR builds since the changed packages didn’t make it past the review.
It’s still an unofficial third-party repository and closer to the AUR than to extra but I consider it a major step up.
I don’t think capsaicin is that much of an insecticide. AFAIK its primary purpose is to deter consumption by mammals since the seeds are more likely to survive if eaten by birds (who are immune to capsaicin).
Of course that makes it extra amusing that we’re specifically after this stuff.
