i considered posting this in !egg_irl@lemmy.blahaj.zone, but decided against it on the basis that not all trans people have been eaten by snakes prior to their transition so it might not be relatable

i’m curious, and the wikipedia articles for domestic pigs or feral pigs don’t seem to make any reference to this. if this is actually real, what’s the mechanism for this change? the only thing i can think of that would make sense would be that it’s dietary, but the pigs at the farm up the hill from me spend most of their time foraging around their very large enclosure, and they still seem pretty tusk-less and stereotypically pink as any domestic pig.

my dad just sort of handwaves them away as “jokes” and aggressively refuses to engage any further than that

they did indeed, and they did it all the way back in 2018! here’s a ubuntu 18 box which i should really get around to updating:

In that case you can use
--log-driver=syslog. There are quite a few other options to choose from :)Out of interest, why is overlayfs out of the question? If it’s because you’re running rootless and you’re running an older kernel which doesn’t allow non-root users to create overlayfs mounts, there’s always the
fuse-overlayfsdriver, which is functionally the same but emulates it in userspace using a FUSE driver. Finally, thevfsdriver should ALWAYS work, although it comes at the cost of not being able to share storage between image layers. Also if you’re on ZFS there’s azfsdriver for that which uses ZFS volumes (same idea as the subvolume approach on btrfs). There’s more information on the docs if you’re interested, and I’m pretty sure podman has a similar suite of options.
uh… yes, you can? docker doesn’t even log to journald by default, and you can also just do
docker run --log-driver=none ...if you want to completely disable saving any logs.edit: there are also a bunch of alternate storage systems, i have docker set up to use btrfs subvolumes

In addition to what the other commenter said, I want to add that the inverse is also true - intentionally or not, women tend to step out of the way for men a lot more often. If you spend some time peoplewatching on a busy sidewalk, there seems to be a kind of unwritten social hierarchy of “which person needs to step out of the other person’s way”, which most of the time seems to be something along the lines of tall man > short man > short woman > tall woman. This has led me to an interesting realization - before I started transitioning I used to have a lot of encounters (often multiple times a day) where both myself and someone else step out of each other’s way and then do that funny little back-and-forth dance until we figure out who’s staying in place. The other person in these situations was almost always a woman, and this hardly happens anymore when I’m presenting fem (but still happens a lot when I’m boymoding). Apparently I’d subconsciously figured out my placement in the sidewalk etiquette hierarchy years before consciously realizing that I wasn’t a guy!

TIL i’ve had it backwards all this time. oh well, guess i’ll just add it to the mountain of “basic aspects of basic human interaction that i will now be overthinking on manual mode for the rest of my life” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

any woman who gives you shit over showing weakness is just as toxic as those alpha male losers, just cut 'em off :)
considering she literally has a trans pride flag hanging above the door in her bedroom, i’m gonna say it’s a little bit more than just allegory
