For me it was the lost in space, surviving one crisis after another - billions of lightyears from earth.
Helps that the main character is a gamer kid lol, and I quickly fell in love with dr. Rush

That is a recurring issue? It happens in the show several times? They even have an “attempted coup” to get civilian control - the military command on the ship disobey earth lots of times

I loved sg:u, it was what got me into stargate. Hell it makes the other shows characters seem flat in comparison 🤷
It’s two different kinds of series, most people who liked one weren’t into the other. And ppl who would have liked universe never tried it
