Both me and my wife had a Gamecube. For my stag weekend, I hired a country house in Scotland and took both, networked them together, hooked each up to a projector and we played Double Dash with 8 players at a time. It was loads of fun!
Started off with Toad in the original.
With Double Dash I moved on to Paratroopa / Koopa Troopa.
And with 8 I moved onto Shy Guy.
For the in-between games, I kept the same as the previous entry. Even though he’s not a light racer like the others, I switched to Shy Guy because I like the noises he makes.

Yes on the first point - it’s closer to how the Italians pronounce it. But Parmigiano and Parmesan are not the same word.
The English word “Parmesan” comes from the French word “Parmesan”, which is pronounced, you guessed it, with a s/z sound.
The soft g/j is not more accurate, because it’s a different word. It’s an over-correction.
FWIW, the word was in English nearly a whole century before the first British colony in America. It really is a word that existed and folk in America changed the pronunciation of.
I think the only correct answer will be “there are lots of different reasons”.
My wife took my last name, even though it’s not a good one and I suggested that we pick a new one.
Here are a couple of her reasons:
She wanted us to have the same surname.
She was very close friends with my cousins growing up, so the name didn’t seem weird to her.
Tradition - she’d always assumed she would change her name to her husband’s name, so that seemed the most normal thing to do.
I appreciate this is probably the autism, but I’ve always been fascinated that most people seem to be comfortable with stripping down and being oiled up and touched by a stranger.
The odd thing is, I’d totally understand this in a sexual context - but for people to want this kind of contact just as a service, like a haircut or something, seems utterly alien to me.
I realise this doesn’t answer your question, but like I said, I’ve always been fascinated by the concept.
