It’s simply a quick and easy way to make the image unable to be propagated further as propaganda, so that we can share it to discuss it instead of helping it spread. Any stray right wingers seeing this wanting to share the image with their own bubble would have to go and find the original instead of simply using the one shared here. It’s not perfect but it’s an added hurdle.
Sorry, now I don’t follow. You want to add some identifier to the original image? How? For what purpose? Sounds like a lot of effort if the goal is, if we’re being honest, mostly to make fun of the image, but even if it’s for serious discussion.
