I think he also prefers to use first names to keep these people small. If you say Gates, or Buffet you know immediately who is meant. I think he doesn’t want to give them status, so he has something to praise them with when they do what they want. Abusive people tend to use the carrot and the stick through words and attention. He wouldn’t have cared if he wrote Amodei wrong. Don’t forget how he gives all his political opponents ‘new’ names too. He uses it to put out his world view of who is good and who is bad, and who is important and who is not. He is not a high iq individual, but he does very finely understand how to manipulate people.

Even if we pretended that he were high IQ, it still doesn’t make sense to say that the US has high IQ presidents “in spades” because that means that we have several, but we allegedly would have only one. In reality, we have zero, which is very much not “in spades”.
And while I have you here, I think his IQ is closer to 75-80, not that that matters. IQ kind of a bullshit metric full of flaws, but I still think that anything under 120 is disqualifying for the presidency, so 78ish vs 88ish is pointless to bicker about.
He thinks 100 is the max.
Even if that was the max, he’d still be far from it.
