I recently saw a post that simply said “Somebody should do it soon” … and everybody automatically understood what ‘it’ was and whom it should be done to.
I subscribe to a gaming podcast called Nexlander; they have a subscription tier where they’ll read off your name at the end of their main weekly podcast. Every week one of the names is “Maybe today is the day it finally happens” and I have one singular thought every single time that handle is read aloud.
They didn’t say you couldn’t. They just pointed out that you don’t need to see the name to know exactly who the post is referring to. Not every thread needs to be about reddit grievances. Move on.
Also, without mentioning a name, we all know who this is about.
