Stargate Universe was also Sci-Fi, but they seemed to have no problems depicting sex in that show. Looking at the other titles on that network’s list of programs, there was definitely plenty of sex on that network. I mean, that network had Lexx.
On my version, the “shit” part is pretty covered up by a klaxon blaring, but if I remember correctly, some versions said the word very clearly.

Zelenka also uses Czech phrases that often involve vulgar words that effectively translate to “shit”. A Russian soldier in “The Tomb” also says something that the subtitles translate to “holy shit”.
It is my understanding that they did try to put Carter in custom skimpier uniforms. You can get away with that setting your sci-fi in the 23rd century but not the present-day USAF, so Amanda Tapping got regulation uniforms. The least accurate part of her ensemble was the FN P90. They tried sexing her up on occasion but it never really works.
