Getting old is watching all your former ‘rebel’ friends become the Empire.

And worse, watching your former empire friends, seem more like the rebels.

and then realizing they’re all assholes and none of them really care about anyone other than themselves and this movie was fun, but a horrible horrible way to view the world.

The real struggle is going on at your local town/neighborhood meeting and voting for the city rep you have never heard of is the one making the biggest impact on your life.

The genius of Mandami, that everybody ignores, is he is entire focused on small potatoes local issues that actually effect the voters lives. But in america, filling pot holes and auditing/moving budget items for more pragmatic spending, makes you a communist, or something. Real change is in the boring details, not the grand historical narrative.
