The first deus ex game. When the company tells him they only monitor people for safety of their products and then a leaked memo says otherwise and how they trick people into taking showers to do full body scans on them. And the “health and safety” measurements aren’t even being taken other than to manipulate.

It’s just like that. But real life.

Deus Ex really was prescient of a lot of things. autonomous kill bots, using disasters as a cover for fucked up shit, corporatism and influence peddling, private militaries, even people becoming obsessed with AI as a weapon/salvation/god.

      … alright, time to reinstall

It’s the 2nd one with the example I mentioned, not the first one. Sorry I got mixed up.

But Both the first and the deus ex invisible war (2) have the same corrupt corporations ruling the world themes though.

The first is set in 2077. Which is where cyberpunk 2077 got it’s name from.

        It has similar themes.

I think the invisible war has a more elaborate story and themes but people have misunderstood some elements as sloppy errors.

For example there are two competing coffee companies that want you to infiltrate the other to help bring down the competition but you find out later they are both owned by a single prime company. And people complained that didn’t make sense but it actually does when you think about the monopolies we have today.

Another was how a woman who has a bunch of cybernetics works for a group that’s against cybernetics. Some people said that doesn’t make sense. We got Latinos making up a large portion of ice agents. Make sense of that !

Also I really like this guys review videos if you are interested. I think he’s funny sometimes and I generally just like his casual approach to reviewing games. He doesn’t do deep dives but you get the over view.

Deus ex Invisible war (2) https://youtu.be/VU9tBTLyQ6w?is=uaDuYb8LPjgFDolV

Also. A remaster of deus ex is listed on steam. Not released yet though.

They’ve done a great job finding unobtrusive locations for those new Flock cameras. No longer need facial recognition. I saw that the “Bidet” product line is being launched next week.
