  • As others have said, it depends on location. Where I live in the US, the crosswalk won’t turn green for pedestrians unless the button was pushed. If it’s an intersection where traffic primarily flows on one street, and the traffic lights only change when the occasional car from the other street, the traffic light will never tell traffic to stop, and your crosswalk will never turn green. You have to push the button to signal the lights to change.

  • But it’s a good point to start asking more questions when the claim looks too good to be true – just as it is with the OP’s meme

The only question you asked was, “does anyone want to move in to a living situation completely dissimilar to the one described in the OP (which effectively no longer exists, contrary to the point I was trying to make)? Didn’t think so 😏”

  • Idk man. I’m a big Keanu fan and I knew as a kid watching The Matrix for the first time that he was not convincing as an actor. Entertaining, absolutely. Skilled, especially in action choreography, no doubt. But I feel like his roles in movies like the John Wick series (where you aren’t expected to take it super seriously) are the only ones where he doesn’t stick out next to even lesser known actors as heavy handed with his acting.

  • It doesn’t seem like their gripe is with the changing of a character’s race, as much as it is about not telling original stories and giving actual minority character’s stories a spotlight.

I feel I phrased that poorly, but I think it’s somewhere along the lines of, “I don’t want to see [traditionally white character] as a black person, I want to see [original black character]'s story be told”

They’re saying that Hollywood execs see that people want more black people in movies, but instead of writing good, interesting original black characters, they’re just casting black actors in pre-existing roles and calling it a day

  • I definitely feel like he lost touch a long time ago.

There was a video that was hosted at one of his employee’s houses (I’ve tried to find the video before but couldn’t) and there were multiple points where Linus was being incredibly rude to the guy’s new home. He was making fun of things for looking cheap, and at one point stood on (or placed something heavy, I don’t remember) a table as the owner asked several times not to in fear of it damaging the table. The video didn’t really get much attention as far as I’m aware, but it left a bad taste in my mouth and I kinda stopped watching as many of their videos.

A few years later the fiasco with the prototype they sold without permission happened and his reaction and the fallout that ensued took LTT off my subscription list.

The video where he talks about how it just didn’t make sense not to buy a private jet was so far beyond out of touch I don’t know how anyone thought it was a good idea (the video, not the jet).
