Ever heard of Nightmare? It’s a horror-themed board game from the 90s, it comes with a VHS tape featuring a demonic MC who barks orders randomly at players, issues dice roll challenges, and punished insubordination. Literally it’s like trying to play a board game with a petty, grumpy Satan. After about 45 minutes the whole table is usually starting to consider collaboratively cheating just to end the game.

You don’t know why one truck decided to pass another one. Could be a safety issue. There’s no way for you to know for sure. It’s OK though, you’ll still get to your destination within a minute of when you would have if they hadn’t chosen to overtake. And everything will be fine.

This is because the reality in the region is that the US is assisting Israel in a war of territorial expansion that involves all of those countries. Iran knows that it’s not enough to merely convince the west to stop attacking just them, because they know that this alone does not cease Israel’s lebenstraum. If Palestine and Lebanon fall then Syria and Iraq are next, and that means doom for Iran.

And the true definition is what it is not merely because of consensus but also because it’s the meaning that has actually been the most useful for deconstructing and understanding the systems of privledge that racial distinction leverages.
