Bark candy in flavours other than chocolate and vanilla/white chocolate. Or mint chocolate. I swear I’ve had it in orange and raspberry and maybe others. Like the consistency of a chocolate bar but it’s not chocolate. No one else seems to remember this.

Not boycotting it per se, I’m just not getting it at launch. I think I’ll play Saints Row 3 again. Those games are so good.
You see what GTA 5 goes on sale for. You got me fucked up if you think I’m dropping $100 on GTA 6.

Turtle or Toad. The first one. We have it on Switch but don’t play it much. It’s fine, it’s really pretty, but my experience is with the first one.

Mac guy who doesn’t do a lot of torrents, but couldn’t you set up a sync (I think I tried syncthing?) that just keeps the torrents in the same place on both computers? Have the torrent client on the other computer set up to scan the directory, so it would automatically add anything in it. Then just put the torrents in it on the main computer. They sync over, the other computer’s client picks them up… would that work?

I always assumed key sites were using stolen credit card numbers and acted like Karma was watching (as in, I don’t want my credit card stolen, so I won’t benefit from those of others).

I know it doesn’t fit the Piracy narrative, but there’s actually more to this story. I’ve never actually heard this story, but at some point, Google gave everyone that same movie (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring) for free. Anybody who saw the deal could claim it. I still have it. I’d gift it to this guy if I could, because I’ve since bought the extended edition trilogy in 4K. The Fellowship copy is locked to 1080p, and it’s the theatrical version. I have no reason to ever watch it. But I still have it.
So I don’t know what happened with them losing the rights, but they did kinda try to make it right by offering a giveaway. It would have been awfully nice of them to email everyone who lost their original copy and tell them they could claim it, though. That rarely happens with giveaways. They had a few of them back then. I also got Happy Feet and Big, maybe one or two others.
Make no mistake though. While I do have quite a nice collection of 4K movies in Apple TV (call them rentals if you want, but I won’t pay more than $5 for them, so rental is fair since I paid rental price), I have easily 10-15 times as many on my Plex server (not all 4K though, but still).

What I don’t get is, how did Dobby get so much love in the Harry Potter fandom while Jar-Jar Binks in Star Wars got so much hate? They were both insufferably annoying characters.
I get that Dobby has fans; what I don’t get is why the same wasn’t extended to Jar-Jar.
Jar-Jar didn’t die, I guess, but I feel like even if he did, fans would glaze him over decades later. They’d say “good riddance” and that would be that.
Honestly would love something like this. I archive music videos and some gaming videos (e.g. E3 announcement trailers). I have them in folders on my computer, and in similar folders on my phone. I use Outplayer on iOS, I don’t know what you’d use on Android. VLC was the go-to when I only had a few videos, but it doesn’t support folders, which is kind of a weird hill to die on, but that’s the stance they’re taking. MX Player has folders, but even MX Player Pro has gotten enshittified over the years. (That’s what my wife uses on her Android phone. I don’t have videos stored on mine. I suspect I’d browse via Solid Explorer, and open them in VLC, since I view iOS as more of an “app ecosystem” and Android as more of a “computing environment”, though they’re really the same thing. They largely differ in policies. One is ad-supported and sells your personal data, the other doesn’t allow sideloading.)
