May I have some context? Too far outside of Linux to recognize who these people are (and usually assume “libre” usually means “good”)

I found somebody who explained the reason, but it’s definitely not a good reason:

At least it’s helpful to know that face scanners might exist in places so that you have the opportunity to turn around before they actually use them.
Similar machines are at TSA checkpoints, and you can opt out of using them. In fact, if everybody opts out, (that part of) the line would go more quickly.
I have yet to see a reason for not using Brave that wouldn’t also apply to Firefox developer Mozilla. That includes appeals to morality, control from Big Tech, etc.
If Brave works (and on iOS it’s basically the only option with a reliable ad blocker) then I don’t see a reason to avoid it.
Would love to see somebody levy a complaint that doesn’t also apply to Firefox. Any takers?
