  • Edit: Just to be clear, this is a pro leash comment.

My kids are very well behaved, not just compared to other ADHD, but to any other kid. However, let them pass the ADHD tipping point where they are too tired, excessively stimulated, over sugared, or god forbid, all 3 at the same time, and they will do the most insane shit just because 2 neurons accidentally bumped together and gave them some stray thought.

  • Everywhere online is getting this way for me. I realized that it’s intentional. The fascist take over of Twitter was a real tipping point. The fascist realized that anti-fascists congregated and connected online, so they started a full out assault on any place that has anything other than hardcore fascist ideology.
Also, the introduction of LLMs has enabled them to really slather on the insanity while making it more difficult to filter or ban.

  • The fan that the builder installed in my parents living room when the house was built nearly 45 years ago is still running, and is nearly silent even at full speed.
It has been running for the majority of its life and spends all but 3 months of the year at full speed.

Ceiling fans wear out only because fan manufacturers realized that they were never going to stay in business if they didn’t make them fail.

  • When a poor (most people) tells me they took a gap year, I usually assume that means that they got a job to pay for college. When a middle class person (entry level wealthy) tells me that they took a gap year I assume that means that they did fuck all until their parents forced them to get the fuck out of the house.
It’s only when talking to actual wealthy people that I assume the gap year included backpacking or vacation.
Also when somebody says they spent their gap year backpacking, I don’t assume that has anything to do with hiking or camping, but is more about spending a year not bathing and doing drugs with sketchy people in sketchy places.
