Eh, gasoline going bad isn’t quite the on-off switch a lot of the show’s critics think it is. I’ve personally revived cars with years-old gas in the tanks before - sure, they run like shit, but they can still be driven, in an emergency anyway. Or post-apocalypse.

Personally, what grinds my gears, is every abandoned car’s battery still having enough juice to start the engine. Nobody ever needs a jump start.

Although, timeline-wise, most of the show takes place over the course of less than two years. It’s not until the middle of season 9, the third-to-last season, that there’s a time skip of more than a few months.

Third-gen Camaro while we’re at it. And the equivalent Firebird.

I think that might’ve been a shout-out to Mork and Mindy; Robin Williams’s character says that in the title sequence, after banging his head on the side of his spaceship.

These days, I hear the line “it’s just people driving in circles” from F1 fans dumping on NASCAR, more than anything else.

But like, any sport sounds boring when you just break it down like that. Baseball, basketball, either kind of football, they’re all about a bunch of dudes just moving a ball around.

Highest posted speed limit in this country is 85mph, on a small stretch of toll road in Texas. Which converts to a “mere” 137kph. We don’t have un-restricted highways here.

I enjoy the show, it’s a good comfort-watch. Being an avid Mythbusters fan too, though, sometimes it’s hard for me to look past all the stuff that they’ve proven to not be possible. But I chalk it up to artistic license and have a good time anyway.

I had a spell where I’d just make my own wine at home. Could make a couple gallons at a time for cheap, it’d just take a few weeks to be drinkable.

But now it’s rare for me to drink too. So my excuse is all the wine I’ve made is “still aging”. Perfect hobby for the lazy and forgetful.
