I was going to say Iron Maiden as well, but it was their Legacy of the Beast tour in 2019 for me. They still had more energy than most of the young bands I’ve seen. It was also my first time being on the floor in an arena, and it was like the crowd was a huge living thing that pulsed and swelled, it was awesome.

Side story: the band The Raven Age was founded by Steve Harris’ son George, and was an their opener that night. I overheard some guy in the bathroom say they sucked and sounded like “boy band metal.” My opinion of them wasn’t quite so negative, but thought the “boy band metal” label was hilarious.

Sounds like I made a dumb dumb and it was actually a Thai food cart, not Vietnamese. It’s been over 10 years since I went there, so I think I just cited the wrong country of origin for it.

They had Pad Kee Mao on the menu too, and their drunken noodles were basically the same recipe, just with fettuccine-like noodles instead of the wide egg noodles.

I used to regularly go to an awesome Vietnamese Thai food cart in a big U.S. city. The first time I ordered drunken noodles, I made the mistake of saying yes when he asked if I wanted it spicy. It took me 45 minutes and a shitload of water to get through it. But the flavor under the spice was excellent, so I wanted to try it again.

The next time I went, I ordered it again but asked for “white guy spicy.” The old dude laughed and made one of the best drunken noodle dishes I’ve ever had, with the perfect spice level for me.

It’s always disappointing to see how quick people are to shit on others’ attempts to build connections in their own ways.

Yeah, it’s kind of silly to make a blinking light app when the phone implies they could just call or use one of a million text-based message options.

But he set aside his own time to build something he thought she would like. There are so many worse ways someone can spend their time on a computer (or in general), I don’t see why this seems worthy of ridicule. Also, why phrase it as “she wants attention”? Is it really any worse than her calling and saying, “I miss you” or “I’m just bored and want to talk to you”?
