Shame this one is in Nintendo jail. First FromSoft game I won’t be playing at launch, or likely ever if it stays exclusive. I love FromSoft, but I hate Nintendo more, and am putting my money where my mouth is.

Well I don’t know if EA games could get any worse. Maybe the games will get better under different owners. The last ones didn’t do very well, and that’s being generous. At the worst they stay the same. I probably still wont buy them either way. Unless they remaster LotR Conquest or NFS Underground 2 and actually do a good job and make it super faithful, which is extremely doubtful.
Also, if they have such a problem with the new owners, I don’t think anything is stopping them from seeking new employment with a company with social politics they agree with more.

Guy, everyone thinks they’re a Human AI Detector, especially if they have an account on Twitter, Reddit, BlueSky, etc. Which often results in baseless accusations against human made content being called AI generated, which is hilarious to me honestly.

EDIT: Bethesda stepped in and rescinded the DMCA. Was made by Tracer without Bethesda’s knowledge. Bethesda was not the bad guy. Original comment below.
Should just ignore it. What’s Bethesda going to do about it?
Honestly I wouldn’t even be surprised if this is AI overzealously abusing DMCA, which is hyper-omega-turbo-common nowadays. It came from Tracer, not Bethesda, so this is the most likely explanation. The ONLY thing they could ding the guy on is MAYBE trademark infringement, but then he can just change the name from fo2 to something else and no problems. I don’t see why he cant just do that.
I also don’t see why him serving is important to the story for any reason other than sympathy points. Whether he was serving in a war or not is irrelevant to how erronious the DMCA abuse is. The abuse is just as bad either way.
I see “clunky” used to critique true Survival Horror combat a lot. I think this comes from a misunderstanding about the genre: the developers are trying to disincentivize you to engage in combat.
Its a big part of the game design of Survival Horror that is important: getting into combat should be a lost resort action, not a preference. How do you do that? Make combat feel bad. If the combat is fun and feels fluid, the player will want to engage in combat. But that goes against the entire point of Survival Horror. The peak, most optimal way to play should be to avoid any combat that is not mandatory to beat the game. This is because Survival Horror relies on the player constantly having to choose: Do I risk losing health and ammo in this fight, or can I avoid the fight and go around the enemy? Will I need to come back again, and if so, will I be able to make the same choice again?
So when someone tells me combat in a true Survival Horror game feels clunky, that is exactly what it is supposed to feel like. Otherwise the game will become an Action Shooter, like Resident Evil, Silent Hill Remake, Dino Crisis 2 and 3, etc.
Kuon’s story is just the result of poor localization, honestly. The Japanese audience could understand it much better. Us English speakers didn’t even get all the puzzles translated.
These games were written by the writer for Silent Hill. So if you havent played the original first or second games, those will most likely be most similar.
Maybe Kuon? FromSoft developed game, and a horror game on PS2, but its not got the same unique feeling to it. Just a Japanese PS2 horror game.
I don’t know anything about this particular situation so won’t comment on it either way. I just think its funny that so many people can be so confidently wrong when it comes to thinking something is AI generated.
I get when something feels suspicious, and often feel this myself, but to be so confident to say it as fact and then be totally wrong when the artist posts a timelapse or something is hilarious to me.
