we didn’t vote for a Maple MAGA candidate for Prime Minister
Yet Carney was voted in, a banker previously, and now he wants to privatize health care, public transit, among other things. Really great job voting in a neolib that only cares about making his donors richer.
Billionaires, corporations, and corrupt politicians aren’t unique to America.
No, but chattel slavery was unique to USA, the racist fallout of which we’re still dealing with today. It’s also a fallout that billionaires, corporations, and corrupt politicians actively try to push, co-opt, and proliferate.
From Lyndon B. Johnson, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.”
People in the US are experiencing the worst wages in decades while elites and corporations are seeing the most profit. Union participation is the worst it’s been in decades. Car culture + suburban sprawl + smartphone usage mean that more people are divided and atomized than ever before in the US. The introduction of technology and AI into schools, defunding of public schools in favor of charter/private schools, and the increasing rates of censoring books and other information from public and school libraries means that students and young people are increasingly failing to receive a proper education.
These are all aspects of systemic forces actively dumbing and beating down the poorest communities in the USA to the point where they don’t give a fuck, or are convinced that Republicans are the better choice since Democrats are controlled opposition.
You might think that what’s going on in America isn’t unique, and you’re right because the same far right, fascist forces are popping up in Canada, in Europe, in Japan, in Oceania, all across the world. There is an international wave of fascism growing EVERYWHERE.
But sure, keep on blaming the voter. It’s the easiest way for you to remove complicity, isn’t it?
