Mostly because the dev has fostered a community that is aggressively bigoted and not only refuses to do anything about it but defends it and participates in the hate. Primarily against trans people but they’ve had plenty of other controversies from their discords and forums. More than just “being an asshole”

LLMs already tend to be the average predicted output for a given input; training on LLM data makes this worse and causes them to become less varied, less dynamic, more towards the mean generated by previous models, and more likely to spit out hallucinations
Im not saying they’re equivalent, just saying why people might call vaxry a nazi. I’m not using that terminology myself, I’d say he’s somebody who is way too cozy with bigots for me to feel comfortable in that community or the things they touch. But i get where people are coming from, whether somebody says that he’s nazi adjacent or whatever they’re generally conveying the same idea in harsher terms. I’m glad they’re cleaning up their act with a CoC though, I really liked the hyprland experience when I used it, and it would be a net benefit for everybody if they made the ecosystem around it welcoming and safe for all stripes of people.
