What game is this? I’m not a big RPG guy (Pokemon is the only traditional RPG I really play). I was going to take a guess Golden Sun or Chronotrigger but I don’t know enough to know whether either of those got a 3DS Remaster

Damn. I saw the picture first and got really excited thinking it was fates. I’ve heard good things about awakening but my SD Card got corrupted when I was playing it and I lost all motivation to play it. If it’s anything like fates though (or better from what I hear) it’s a really good time

If by rough you mean difficult, you can actually fine tune the settings in game to match what you want. Like if you want something where zombies go down super easy and supplies are super common you can easily set the save settings to that.

I will add though they’re different experiences when comparing Solo and Multiplayer

I’d say you can just turn off the zombies, but I feel like that’d take a lot of the point out of it. Though, now that I say that I’m tempted to try it just to see what it’s like. I feel like it’d be interesting

I always mean to add a disclaimer that i’m a lot more biased towards these games than other people lol, i do really enjoy sharing these thoughts about them though. Especially 3 & 4 as those are what i grew up playing.

Gave Dillon (the beaver) a nice long nap in a box today. The would be fighting an uphill battle in the gym I was facing so I swapped her out for a Ghost Type

I played ZA and loved it. I don’t think I ever really featured it as a screenshot but I filled out the Pokédex and I think I did a living Dex too. I know a lot of people were upset about the windows in the game but honestly never even noticed them unless I specifically stopped and looked at them.

It’s minute, but I think my favorite feature is letting Pokemon wander around the city with you. I know SV had the same feature but it felt a lot more refined in ZA, plus the environment was a lot nicer

OR is Omega Ruby. It’s the 3DS Remake of Ruby (Gen 3).

As for what I play Platinum on, I keep transferring the save around. Usually I play on 3DS with TwilightMenu++, but I actually just got a flashcart in today that lets me play Platinum on a DS Lite which is what I spent basically all day playing.

A few screenshots ago (and by a few I mean like Januaryish i think) I did Emerald and 100% the Hoenn Pokédex. I did that one on an emulator and it was fun

I’ll look into the Fairy Rings. I’ve seen them around but had no idea what to do with them. Having those available would be handy

I might try and see if a static IP for my 3DS will help it. I doubt it would but it doesn’t hurt to hope.

Honestly I have gripes about the entire shell of the N3DSXL. The backplate on the upper and lower screens are this cheap vinyl material that peeled off so easily from average use. I honestly don’t know what they were thinking. I hope someone out there eventually comes up with a mod that replaces it with something better. Until then though I’ve been eyeing a shell swap but I’m not sure because I know it’s just gonna start peeling again

I’ll let you know how Open Home goes once I get it setup. I know Cachy has a bit of Setup with Appimages I think but I haven’t ever really had any big issues with them

FTP for me will work for like 5 minutes and then decide “nope. We’re not doing this” and crap out on me lol. I’d move the micro SD Card but I have the battery and stuff duck taped in because the back plate went missing and started flaking apart (N3DSXL Model).

I’ll look into Open Home, I was using Pkhex to trade them into ORAS Before, but Pkhex is finicky to find saves with so OpenHome might be a better option

I think the newest game I’ve played to completion was SWSH. I enjoyed it but really don’t have much to say.

I’m with you on BW though. It feels like a league of its own. If I didn’t have a living Dex for BW I might have gone and done BW 2 again instead of platinum

I do actually have native hardware! Along with everything setup to transfer it. I meant to talk about it in the post but forgot, but I actually had transferred my save off my 3DS and played it in an emulator to get the screenshots until I find a better way to get ahold of them because ftp on CachyOS seems to be really difficult to keep a stable connection for me

Gameplay definitely leaves a bit to be desired for me. Mechanically it feels fine but there’s just something there about the presentation that feels off

I do finish games (Occasionally). I usually try to finish some games, though sometimes I drop them and circle back around.

As for money, I don’t really make any. I live in a large but fairly broke household (live with my family until I graduate) and I’m a college student.

The combination of that nets me a decent amount of Financial aid that I use to fund my hobbies (College takes what they’re owed and I get whatever’s leftover). I get maybe 2 financial aid refunds a semester and the rest I’m kind of broke.

I’ve also just got a huge backlog though going back years and take advantage of my local library for games too. Which is really nice

The aesthetic is really good too. I just thought they were really impressive for an engine I usually associate with looking similar to the first doom game lol

One thing i can remember off the top of my head is talking to the Pirate guy at the bar when you first learn to sail. I have a screenshot saved of the player’s reaction too it and me and my friend both spent a good while laughing at it

Now that you mention it i have noticed a lack of FOMO when it comes to OSRS, which would help explain why i like it so much. Whenever something hits me with an attempt at causing FOMO it always makes me go “Why am i tolerating this?” and start to lose interest fast. At best the thing will have some core part of it i actively enjoy, but there’s a lot of “pure” FOMO things that i end up getting tired of fast
