People can’t get jobs, they get desperate so resort to crime or escapism such as drugs. This shit is not unique to Detroit, shit it’s not unique to the US. Happens in some way everywhere where industries leave and people are left unemployed and without prospects. Though in some regards it’s worse in the US since there is no safety social net so those people are truly screwed.
