Please stop with the “they’re not serious” talk. They are serious, and they’re destroying my country.
I’m not sure I’ll ever get over how arrogant and simple-minded Pascal’s Wager is. The whole premise is either Christianity or nothing; it doesn’t account for any other religion. I just find it hilarious.
As a Minnesotan, we’re the only south Canada and I’ll apologize passive-aggresively to anyone that disagrees.

I was a reddit user for, idk, 13 years? I forget. Came here in 2023 because of the API shenanigans. The official reddit app sucked then and still sucks today. I open reddit maybe once a year, sigh, and close it again.
Lemmy has become so much better since joining, as far as apps go. Glad I left.
You have to work very hard to be as purposely obtuse as you’re being. Maybe take a break, champ.
I’d argue that, while there are many - odd - translations (new urban bible, new living translation, new American translation, among others), there are some very good recent academic translations which shouldn’t be included in that. NRSVue and NOAB come to mind as excellent academic translations accessible to the everyday person.
It’s just unfortunate that so many people got duped into this religion by books that were making excuses and purposely translating apologetically.
Christianity is untrue either way, but some recent translations make it far more apparent than others.
Why should they get their interpretation from an apologetic translation written in the 1600s? There are many better versions with more accurate translations and include so many things that have been found since then.
If the context in the KJV was wrong, why shouldn’t it be updated?
Clearly you can ask for pussy.
There is a TikTok channel as well as a book.
