Iron Man is a better example of a superhero who created powers for himself, but he isn’t one of the three most popular

It is putting them at a disadvantage. I can hear characters speaking french and pick up at least some of what they’re saying. A deaf person who knows some French should have the same opportunity as me to see the French words and interpret some of what is being said. I’m not saying have the subtitles in English, I’m saying have them in the language being spoken on screen so they’re getting the experience intended

Like I said, people who happen to know the language can understand it and so should have the same chance to understand with subtitles. If the director’s intention was nobody understand it, they shouldn’t have them speak in a language people may be able to understand

I noticed this in Meet The Robinsons. A guy says “Madames and monsuiers” and the subtitle says “speaking french” as if the average English speaker doesn’t know what those words mean

This is unfair to bilingual deaf people.

For example, there’s an episode of Bluey with a lot of French. I’m really bad at French but I do know a little of it. I am able to understand some of the dialogue.

Why should a deaf person not have the same right as me to interpret dialogue in a language they happen to understand or understand bits of?

Why does the majority not simply seize wealth from the minority and redistribute it? Why can’t society just collectively decide money from billionaires had no value? It’s so frustrating seeing the majority allow a minority of rich people ruin everything when money is a social construct, meaningless if we all collectively decide it is

People keep thinking I’m saying don’t bother voting when I say the midterms aren’t going to save them. I guess my brain is wired differently than theirs. I don’t think a hopeless situation means don’t bother doing anything. I think yeah duh, you gotta try what you can

It’s not falling fast enough

As one of the people living in one of the neoghbouring countries to the Untied States, I’m fucking terrified of annexation. I almost want them to start invading NATO countries just to see if anything will be done to stop them. I’m terrified Trump’s apparent immunity to all consequences will extend internationally and the world will just fucking let him take whatever he wants

Put the Untied States on time out until it behaves

I’ve been screaming for people to realize that the law doesn’t matter if nobody is enforcing it. Absolutely nothing is stopping Trump from becoming a dictator. Maybe more people will open their eyes after midtetms
