I am MAGA-passing and ex-military. I most certainly run in conservative crowds and they are far far more hateful and violent than the more liberal groups I attend. Not saying there aren’t lunatic fringes on both sides, but the right has adopted their lunatic fringe as mainstream. Go into any gun shop, shooting range, biker bar, golf course, strip club, rodeo…if it leans conservative and you listen, or initiate more violent rhetoric, it will be met with approval. Do that in a coffee shop, bookstore, bike shop, leftist gun range (we literally have one, it is amazing), or other more left leaning place and try that. Some folks will agree and some will try to run you out of the place.

Note: I have read history books and fully understand all major positive changes were brought about by violence, so I am definitely a more aggro leftist, but I’m not randomly shooting people or advocating for assassination. I do however bring up that peace isn’t going to work (wrong or not, not debating that here) and I only get shot down by ONE side.

Even people at my church say “God will smite the sinners(Dems)” as they vote for the human embodiment of the 7 deadly sins and clear machinations of the deceiver turning God’s flock against the righteous path.

Get help, friend. It is out there.

I hope you recover from being used. It sucks, but there are plenty of people that left that sick mental state and didn’t have to sacrifice all their conservative values.

If it helps, remember, conservatives don’t know what the words they use mean, only how they make them feel. “Killed a Republican” = Leftist…it doesn’t matter that most recent political murders against conservatives were from other conservatives, they don’t do facts. The same with communist or socialism. They don’t actually know what those words mean, they just know “unga bunga feel-bad word make BIGLY MAD!” Once you learn that, it helps debate them more effectively.

They want Nazis out of power. Slight difference, likely feels like a death threat to them though.
