Which has happened to me and was no problem, its very intuitive to use most systems.
This is why I use debian stable. New releases are three whole years apart and everything works. I just upgraded to debian 13 a few days ago.
It has Timeshift preinstalled, because Timeshift is maintained by the Linux Mint team. You can use any live session and install Timeshift, though.
You can just boot a Linux Mint live session and restore from there.
