To explain; they think any form of consequences for bad behaviour is cancel culture and cancel culture is a purely left thing and is evil and wrong because freedom of speech and because it’s something the left does. So anyone who advocates for consequences for a company’s actions must be a leftist. It’s a very common thing with American right wing propaganda. I have seen it way too often.

It’s still possible that Trump has gotten his wires crossed and thinks it’s an American thing. All it takes is one of his Russian handlers to mention that that’s how it works in Russian and for him assume it’s the same in the US. His brain isn’t great with nuance after all. It’s not like he understands the hows or whys of preexisting policies anyway.
