ITT: People who have apparently never heard of a Bluetooth shower speaker.

So just don’t stop up the drain when you’re laying down in the tub while the shower is running? I’m with @FishFace@piefed.social on this one - a shower that you have space to lay down in is a tub. Is this maybe a language barrier thing?

The annoying part for me is Pi-Hole often blocks those unsubscribe links - understandably so, it’s literally a link to a website operated by the exact spammers Pi-Hole is trying to block. I’ve started taking advantage of my email service’s alias feature. Anytime a site wants my address for something, I just generate an alias address (that I can disable/delete at any time) that redirects to my regular inbox. And since the alias address typically contains the site’s name, I know exactly who sold my data if I start getting spam from something I never signed up for.

Inbox zero feels so nice and clean.

Ah, yeah, I can see where that would be an issue. I don’t use a VPN for Soulseek since it’s not really needed, but I seem to recall reading that it can be configured to work behind a VPN. However, the VPN provider must have port forwarding. And the configuration process may understandably be more effort than you’d want to put into downloading ebooks.

If these are e-books you’re looking for, you may want to try soulseek. It’s promoted a lot on here for music downloads, but I’ve gotten almost all my e-books from there, too.

As far as why the downloads are failing - does the site/mirrors your downloading from have subscriptions for higher speed downloads? My bet would be that if you’re downloading without a subscription then your traffic is getting deprioritized server-side. Kind of a shitty way for them to operate, if so, but nothing you can really do about it. Most sites I’ve downloaded from like that just make you watch an ad or force you to wait some amount of seconds before the download starts.

Just my hypothesis, though. Can’t know for sure if that’s happening without knowing what site it is.

Particularly disappointing part of that interview was Rober saying he still plans to buy a new Tesla. Safety issues aside, why would anyone want to do that?
