Ah see, your mistake was using Bing. They only said they’ll reduce W11 ads, not Bing ads! 🙃

I mean they’re not laid off, so the money should still go to them, no? I read on <crap-site> that they ran out of money like 3 weeks before the release date, so hopefully with what a huge success this is, once the money gets banked over they’ll be back in business? :<

Yeah they’ve been doing at least some of the code “testing” with AI for a while now IIRC. overclock3D had an article about it quite a while ago.

Yeah exactly, this means not a single person that wasn’t already fired and replaced with exec-level managed talking to Claude existed that could try the game out before setting it to public.

A friend of mine until recently worked for their department that also did risk planning and mitigation. Until they were all let go.
So they basically prepared for stuff like this, and now they’re gone, and hey, now not even this basic shit works. Well done, Ubisoft.

Specifically being more narrow-minded in supposedly-catholic religious matters than the catholic church, that’s really the kicker here. They push these exemptions through because “But muh reeligonz!!!” and then the actual religion used as a shield goes “Nope. Are you this stupid, you stupid fucks?!”. 😂

This is so wild to me. Like this is very much - intentionally causing bodily harm to the kid - a reason you should have your kids taken away from you.

Ah, IMO SoM is actually good. Quite good. It’s not super noteworthy, but it’s like the Riven games or so? Good AA stuff.

Yeah this is weird, this seems specfically why these laws exist.
And to be fair, no matter what sum they have to pay, it’ll be pocket change for Netflix at most.

It also adds that most people who are “invested” in the Fediverse don’t realize to what absurd degree the notion of caring about decentralization or open source doesn’t matter to many people they try to get interested. For whom their problems are “We need more formula for the kid” or “Shit I gotta visit the family on the weekend and that’s also the only days we could possibly work on getting that leaking pipe fixed, ever”.
People have problems that need fixes. Their social media being a centralized one isn’t a problem to them - it works right now. It’s a solved problem. Trying to inject another problem to care about into their life will often actively aggravate people, and for understandable reasons: They got enough of them already.
Plus, in particular in current times, very serious very IRL issues. On multiple levels. Caring about Reddit vs Piefed or so is so far down the list, to most it feels ludicrous that this ought to be an issue to anybody at all.
Adquilibrium must be achieved!
