You know posts like this annoy the hell out of me because people with this mindset put identity before character, and I really hate when that is somebody’s list of priorities.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Unfortunately you can’t make sweeping generalizations and perpetuate a negative stereotype if you put character ahead of identity.
BTW I’m sorry that you had a rough time. It’s not morally correct nor fair.
I’ll never argue that someone else’s feelings are invalid but I’d like for you to sit with the following thoughts for a few minutes.
The Trans community has spent a decade informing us that “Words are violence” and I think they have a legitimate point; words can absolutely cause lasting and measurable harm. Men and boys tend to use their fists while Women and girls tend to use their words. However both are weapons and they are both violence.
With that in mind when you say you’d be terrified to be alone at a party full of men you are really saying that you categorize physical harm above verbal because a gaggle of Women / Girls will absolutely twist off on other people, being as absolutely mean and nasty as you can imagine.
Flee the men if you are scared of them but the reality is that women can be every bit as dangerous, particularly towards solo men.
FWIW people should taken a group of trusted friends with them to a party. It’s safer for everyone that way.
