Yes but they can still taste the food. Meat substitutes are something that some humans choose to eat for ethical reasons, but they aren’t good, they’re good enough to stand in for meat when we are out of by the meat industry.

Again if you want a house pet that doesn’t eat meat and doesn’t hunt, torture and kill other animals for fun, there are other options. Bunnies, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rats, mice, parrots, budgies, pot belly pigs, etc will all be happy to eat vegan food (or if you’re hung up on the Idea of having a cat, get a cat girl). Don’t try to force cats to eat vegan food.

We are omnivores and can eat pretty much anything from grass seeds to whales to a fucking Cessna 150. Cats aren’t like that. They’ve evolved to depend on meat as their sole source of nutrition. Their sense of taste is also evolved to love meat. They can’t really taste much else. If you’re forcing your cat to choke down mycoprotein and soy beans to stay alive, you are a bad person.

How would you feel if someone abducted you, and forced you to eat kiviak to stay alive and stopped you from going out to feed yourself?

  • There are a bunch of them. Thanks to my rabbit foot, they are blissfully unaware that they’re poly though. Anyway I refuse to share robin with Demetrius. The man’s controlling, annoying, boring and frightfully pedantic. Robin can do better. Actually wile I’m at it I’m going to save Marnie from a life of being hidden away like she’s something to be ashamed of. Fuck you Lewis! Her life’s hard enough without you treating her like shit! Me, Marnie, Robin, and Leah getting trashed on ancient fruit wine in my barn during the week and doing peyote with Sandy on the weekend.

  • Most catfood that you can buy in the shops is actual trash. Anything containing grain should be avoided. The good stuff doesn’t really cost much more if you buy it in bulk and the cats don’t need as much of it so you end up using less.

Orijen and Bozita are both good grain free options, if anyone is looking for recommendations.
