Cost of life is a huge factor, I live in Italy, our paychecks are very thin but, especially in the southern regions, cost of life is relatively, especially if you don’t have to travel too far for work.

I’m able to save a few hundred euros per month (my paycheck is a net of about 1700€).

From what little I could understand in the movies I think the minions tend to have somewhat of an upper limit on evil? Like they’re fine with stealing and destroying property but seem genuinely scared when people are murdered, so I guess no they wouldn’t be Nazi. Not to mention how generally chaotic and hard to manage they are, not exactly dictatorship friendly

I mean, of course, then again uniting under a single banner/man does make the faction stronger, under him they simply can’t make any mistake, someone else would have a harder time getting away with the same things.

I appreciate your point of view and, sure, in a different system relying on “voluntary work” would be the best option, self reliant, not dependant on market demand and government issues. Sadly we do not live in a system that allows for any real amount of free time, people that have extra work energy are few and far between, not because they are a bunch of money hogging ghouls but because the average person struggles to pay for his housing, his food, his clothing etc.
