  • How about this?

Method: Thirty-four CBTp trials with data in the public domain were used as source data for a meta-analysis and investigation of the effects of trial methodology using the Clinical Trial Assessment Measure (CTAM).

Results: There were overall beneficial effects for the target symptom (33 studies; effect size = 0.400 [95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.252, 0.548]) as well as significant effects for positive symptoms (32 studies), negative symptoms (23 studies), functioning (15 studies), mood (13 studies), and social anxiety (2 studies) with effects ranging from 0.35 to 0.44. However, there was no effect on hopelessness. Improvements in one domain were correlated with improvements in others. Trials in which raters were aware of group allocation had an inflated effect size of approximately 50%-100%. But rigorous CBTp studies showed benefit (estimated effect size = 0.223; 95% CI = 0.017, 0.428) although the lower end of the CI should be noted. Secondary outcomes (eg, negative symptoms) were also affected such that in the group of methodologically adequate studies the effect sizes were not significant.

This is the “Wykes and colleagues (2008)” cited in the first sentence. The only reason your example paragraph sounds like that is because everything it wants to say has indeed already been written.

  • could you tell me how what I wrote sounds like AI? again, I have always maintained (proper attribution) that the list from one to ten I copied from Wikipedia. that part sounds slightly more like AI because AI trained on that, but I don’t see why someone summarizing a song while avoiding violating copyright (for a Wikipedia article) sounds like AI.

  • i’m not using AI 😭 your comment makes it sound like the duel itself and not the preparation has nine stages, and that it only stops with death when they just fire

I’m a bit confused about your second paragraph. I am talking about Ten Duel Commandments from the musical Hamilton. The list is Wikipedia’s summary of the number/song.

  • This is a misinterpretation of “Ten Duel Commandments”, which does not mention a 10-step nor a 9-stage approach for the duel itself, but the process of setting it up, of which at any point one may chicken out. The segment’s formulation of the process as ten points (which I’ll reproduce here from Wikipedia) is original but apparently does nicely sum up the rules:

    1. Demand satisfaction. No dueling is necessary if they apologize.
    2. If they do not apologize, choose someone to act as your second, your lieutenant.
    3. Have your seconds negotiate a resolution, or the location and date for the duel.
    4. If a duel is settled, choose your weapons and have a doctor present.
    5. Duel before dawn.
    6. Write a note for your next of kin.
    7. Confess your sins.
    8. Once again, have your seconds attempt to negotiate peace.
    9. Aim no higher than the dueler’s eye.
    10. Count ten paces, then fire.

That’s only because you have to fill out a form to change it and there’s very little benefit: nobody automatically sees your passport above your head.

I know it’s not your intention, but I find it quite offensive that you imply we are ashamed of our traditional names, when we are borderline forced to take a different one and assimilate.

  • there’s no way of knowing how many people where “believers”, or just went along out of fear.

That is the point of my last sentence. I definitely agree that Christianity has a highly imperialist legacy, but in areas ravished by capitalism instead of colonists, it provides some moral code against endless exploits. Should people be able to find morals and mutual aid without this crutch? Yes, but this provides quite some existing organization against chaos. Karl Marx has a few words on this as well. I agree it’s no good where it does not belong but this article is about California.

It’s additionally imperialistic to let imperialists generalize to our own religions. I believe I should have the right to make Zongzi and maybe fly a kite with my children on Duanwu.

  • Not everyone supports a zero-exception approach. ACLU California Action has emerged as the primary organization opposing AB 1267, arguing in committee filings that an absolute prohibition unduly infringes on fundamental marriage rights and risks driving minors in difficult domestic situations further underground, KFI AM 640 reported. The group has historically resisted total bans on the grounds that they could disempower mature minors or pregnant teenagers navigating already complicated circumstances.

    what‽

that’s the American Civil Liberties Union! it’s the biggest progressive advocacy group!

yes, the article says the bill was amended to make “any minor marriage performed on or after January 1, 2027, [] legally prohibited but voidable at the option of the person who married as a minor, rather than automatically void” to address those concerns, but:

    1. the article also says there was a 2018 attempt with similar opposition and I doubt nobody thought of this solution then, so I don’t think this solution quelled the opposition
    2. that seems to defeat the point where enacting a ban instead of the 2018 watered-down act’s mandated counseling would ban forced marriage! if the marriage becomes null then the parents would know the minor reported it, no?
