  • LibreELEC takes the win for me almost every time. Extremely efficient. Kodi has the bare minimum but there’s an add-on for your niche needs & Article Fuse 3 is insanely polished now & hands down THE best Kodi skin ever.

I run the official Jellyfin add-on for TV + series but still have Elementum for p2p streaming & I could also use Jellyfin’s music library but Kodi can just access the shaer with Navidrome’s root folder. I prefer multiple ways of accessing the same folders than leaving it all to Kodi or Jellyfin.

But I digress. LibreELEC can be the powerhouse you want or the barebones you need.

  • Not really.

It’s actually the English “Caesar”. The founders of the OG bar & recipe were Italian but Tijuana has always been a bilingual town, so instead of the Italian Cesare or the Spanish César the official name is literally just the English version.

Now, the Latin <ˈkae̯sar> is absolutely the origin of the Italian Cesare with such a well documented evolution that for our purposes it is the same name but with a modernized pronunciation. In Italy (& Mexico’s César) the name made a huge comeback in the XX century but we cannot deny that is Julius (and their tyrannical parasocial followers) who made his cogname as famous as it is.

But that’s not here or there.

  • Typeface, not font. Also, one of the better ones for dislexia is a stretch given there’s actually no hard proven data, it’s all anecdotal & preference based. It’s not HORRIBLE but there are plenty of ones that lots of studies focus on that have marginal potential.

We have 2 approaches: 1 being good lettering + how much families enable good reading and 2 being the cognitive processing of information via text. Comic Sans falls very mid on both but that’s not necessarily bad either.

If we want to talk dislexia alone, OpenDyslexic followed by the still growing Atkinson Hyperlegible even as a serif, COULD be marginally be the better ones.

Comic Sans has one big advantage, it’s ubiquitous. That means that dyslexics have more chances to see the appeal of it in comparison with blocky monolithic Serif typefaces.

Dyslexie is the actual one that opened Pandora’s box regarding dyslexia assisting typefaces but that’s a rabbit hole for another time. It’s fascinating & forever changing.
