Efficiency in terms of rolling resistance. Apparently the stock tires are designed to maximize efficiency to get a better sticker MPG, but after that you’re on your own.
Which is shitty because manufacturers have resorted to putting some of the worst tires on their vehicles to comply with fleet MPG standards. You should be able to buy better tires if you want even if that means trading 1-2MPG for traction in the rain or snow.
