    Racism against white people isn’t really a thing. It’d have to be an oppressed minority for it to be racism, else it’s just good old bigotry.

    Edit: changed my mind! racism against white people is definitely a thing on an individual level, which I didn’t consider.

        No, it’s a qualitative difference if a member of an oppressed group is bigoted against one of the oppressing group, or the other way around.

          Yes, but insisting on calling it bigotry instead of racism rarely makes a difference and frequently causes unnecessary arguments with people who are using the other definition of racism. If it’s necessary to discuss institutional racism or whatever else, then just specify that.

      Systemic racism against white people is not a thing. Individual racism against white people is a thing. Claiming one of those doesn’t count as racism is arguing semantics and trying to change the meaning of language, which is impossible.
