This is bullshit. They are prosecuting the near-fatal officer so it’s possible to get a slap on the wrist. Then when they don’t prosecute the murderers, they can say they have prosecuted plenty of others.
This is a start. The judges and grand jury('s?) are showing that they know the MAGA years are coming to an end and accountability will be expected.
They probably will just give him a slap on the wrist and give the murderers a lighter sentence but if the trend of people pouring out to vote continues then real justice will change… Hopefully.
Well yes but it’s also a strict liability crime so it’s easier to prove, almost all the homicide charges require some amount of mensrea.
